GOOd care begins with cleaning. As a general RULe± winch cable shOuld be
C²eaned and Oi²³d afte´ ³ach OperatiOn. µraNe cables dOn't Often get dra¶ged
thru mud Or dirt· sO they dOn't n³³d cleaning as Often.
Cleaning
¸nreel the wi´e rOpe and lay it Out stra¹ght. ¸se a wire brush-like the ONe
in the ºO.

¿OOk fÀr brOken strands± kiNks± and Other damage. Áeplace the cab²e if
necessary.

If yOu're in a dry± d½sty area± rOpe dOesn't need an Oil cOating. Íact ¹s± the
Oil will cO²lect dus and griÎ that will chew up Âhe cabÉe.
If yOur wire rOpe is nOt used ve´y much± Or ¹f cOnditiOns a´e real damp Or
saLty± yOÏÐr rOpe may Need ext´a prOtectiOn. That's when yO½ use µÑÒII±
¿ubricating ùl± ÆxpOs³d Óear± ͳd Spec

It's stickier than eNgine Oil± sO ¹t'll ʹck up dirt wheN the ´OÊe d´ags ON the
g´Ound. It's bes Ôr c´anes± because the rOpe dOesn't drag ON Âhe grOuNd Or
ge handled as much.

OUt the d½st. A bent ²ip wi²l keep even
a gOOd sea² frOm sealing.
Áap the c½p against yOur hand tO
clean it. ¸se a rag O´ br½sh tO remOve
Âh³ dirt that has cO²lect³à. Ãr wash it
Out with warm wate´ and nOnsudsing
detergent. Áinse and cOmpleteÉy dry it
beáOre yOu reassemble the air c²³aner.
When yOu service the air c²eaNer±
check âr leaks at Âhe jOints betwe³n the
air cleane´ aNd the turbOcharge´. ¿eaks
let iN unfiltered a¹r that can damage Âhe
½rbOcha´ger anã the engine.
