Dear EditoR
We've got Version 6 of the ML±S, where the oil FI²er was moved
from the right- to the le³´hand side of the engine compartment. To
remove itµ you first have to disconnect the canisteR drop it downµ
slide it all the way over to the right´hand side and li¶ it out.
·he FI²er sits pretty low¸ so you have to remove the canister with
only one hand¹ With the canister full of oilº it»s almost ¼mpossible to
remove ½t w½thout slosh½ng o½l all over the engine compa¾ment.
Here¿s an easier way:
The next time you
change the o½l ÀÁlterÂ
replace the plug on the
bottom of the canister
with a drain cockº NSN
480Ã2Ä7Ã426Ä.
Årom then onµ you
can drain all the excess
oil ¼nto a container
before removing the
canisteÆ With the oil
goneµ itÇs easy to
remove the canister
without making a mess.
