Semiannual Tailgate
Operation
1. Start engine and fully pressurize vehicle air systems
(TM 9-2320-363-10 or TM 9-2320-302-10). Listen for
air leaks.
Air leaks are present.
2. Operate tailgate release control valve lever in cab
(WP 0004). Check that tailgate unlocks and locks.

Semiannual MCS Tailgate
Operation
(M917A1 with
MCS and
M917A2 with
MCS)
Check operation of MCS gates (WP 0005). Listen for
air leaks.
Air leaks are present.

Semiannual Hydraulic
System
Operation
Raise and lower dump body and check for smooth
operation (WP 0005). Be alert for hydraulic fluid leaks.
Class III hydraulic fluid
leaks are present.
