CAUTION

Do not cut braid when scoring outer jacket.

Damage to heat trace cable may occur

if braid is cut.

11. Lightly score outer jacket (34) with utility knife 4 in. (101.6 mm) from end of heat trace cable (10).

12. Bend heat trace cable (10) to break outer jacket (34) at score.

13. Push heat trace braid (7) back toward outer jacket (34) to create a pucker.

14. Open heat trace braid (7) at pucker using screwdriver.

15. Bend heat trace cable (10) and work it through opening in heat trace braid (7).

CAUTION

Do not cut wires.

Damage to heat trace cable may occur.

16. Pull heat trace braid (7) tight to make a pigtail.
