3. TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL AND FILL. Set parking brakes with shift lever in PARK. Start engine and run at

1000 to 1200 RPM until transmission oil temperature gauge reads in green band. With engine idling at 700

to 750 RPM, check oil level. Add oil as required to transmission to bring level to FULL mark on transmission

dipstick.

a. Oil level on transmission dipstick must be at or above ADD mark. Approximately 3 gal. (11.4 L) of oil will

raise transmission oil level from ADD to FULL (Figure 6).
