The following special terms are used in this manual:

Doppler Effect .

The change in the observed frequency of an electro-
magnetic wave due to relative motion of source and
observer.
Doppler Radar.
....................
A radar that makes use of the Doppler shift of an echo
due to relative motion of target and radar to differentiate
between fixed and moving targets and measure target
velocities.
Microstrip.

A strip transmission line that consists basically of a
thin-film strip in intimate contact with one side of a flat
dielectric substrate, with a similar thin-film ground-plane
conductor on the other side of the substrate.
RS-232 .

A standard developed by the Electronic Industries
