Spare tire carrier access step removed (M931/A1/A2

General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)

and M932/A1/A2) (para. 3-260).

Battery ground cables disconnected (para. 3-126).

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not perform this task near open flame.

WARNING

Diesel fuel is highly flammable. Do not perform this procedure

near open flame. Injury to personnel may result.

1.

Disconnect wire (2) from sending unit (3).

2.

Remove five screws (1) and ground wire (6) from sending unit (3) and fuel tank (5).

3.

Remove sending unit (3) and gasket (4) from fuel tank (5). Discard gasket (4).

1.

Install new gasket (4), sending unit (3), and ground wire (6) on fuel tank (5) with five screws (1).

2.

Connect wire (2) to sending unit (3).
