Front winch cable unwound (TM 9-2320-272-10).

Cable chain and hook removed (para. 3-325).

Wear hand protection when handling winch cable.

Top seizing must not be less than 5 in. (12.7 cm)

WARNING
Wear hand protection when handling winch cable. Broken wires
may cause injury to personnel.
a. Removal
1.
Place threaded sleeve (1) in vise.
2.
Remove clevis socket (2) from threaded sleeve (1).
3.
Remove threaded sleeve (1) from vise, and clamp cable (5) in vise below seizing wire (4), if present.
4.
Remove plug (3), threaded sleeve (1), and seizing wire (4), if present, from cable (5).
5.
Remove cable (5) from vise and trim to provide new end.
