EQUIPMENT CONDITION
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Battery ground cables disconnected (para. 3-126).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Diesel fuel is highly flammable. Do not perform fuel
system procedures near open flame.
1.
Loosen two locking studs (8) from turnbuckles (3) and open access door (9).
2.
Disconnect fuel pump lead (10) from harness lead (11).
3.
Disconnect output line (4) from elbow (5).
4.
Disconnect input line (1) from elbow (2).
5.
Remove two locknuts (12)1, screws (6), clamp (7) with fuel pump lead (10), and fuel pump (14) from
hinge plate (13). Discard locknuts (12).
6.
Remove elbows (2) and (5) from fuel pump (14).
NOTE
Wrap male threads with antiseize tape prior to installation.
1.
Install elbows (2) and (5) on fuel pump (14).
2.
Install fuel pump (14) and clamp (7) with fuel pump lead (10) on hinge plate (13) with two screws (6)
and new locknuts (12).
3.
Connect input line (1) to elbow (2).
4.
Connect output line (4) to elbow (5).
5.
Connect fuel pump lead (10) to harness lead (11).
6.
Close access door (9) and tighten two locking studs (8) in turnbuckles (3).
