Disconnect breather vent tube (3) from elbow (4).

Disconnect lead (2) from transmission temperature sending unit (1).

Disconnect two leads (16) from neutral safety switch wires (17).

Disconnect lead (9) from solenoid connector (10).

Remove cotter pin (15) and transmission shift cable (12) from shift lever (18). Discard cotter pin (15).

Remove two nuts (11), U-bolt (14), spacer (13), and transmission shift cable (12) from transmission

adapter plate (19).

Remove nut (20), lockwasher (21), ground wire (22), screw (6), clamp (5), and modulator cable (7)

from bracket (8). Discard lockwasher (21).

Remove and drain radiator (para. 3-60).

Remove surge tank and bracket (para. 3-62).
