g. Measuring DC Voltage.
To measure dc volts (fig. 5-13), do the following steps:

Set up multimeter (see para f).
NOTE
If you are not sure of the voltage to be measured on the vehicle, always
start on the highest range shown in para f. This will protect the meter,

With any of the three multimeters, connect the red probe to the positive (+) side of
the circuit and the black probe to the negative (-) side. The example below shows 24 volts dc being
measured across the batteries.

If the needle tries to move off scale to the left, reverse the probes on the circuit.
