Gage, belt tension J-23600

TM 9-2320-279-10 Engine side panel removed.

MOS 63S, Heavy wheel vehicle mechanic

a. Adjustment.

(1)

Loosen nut (1) on pivot screw (2) under

alternator (3).

(2)

Loosen adjustment screw (4) at top of

alternator (3).

(3)

Adjust two belts (5) using belt tension

gage to 70 to 90 lb (310 to 400 N).

(4)

Tighten screw (4) first, then nut (1) on

pivot screw (2).

b. Follow on Maintenance.

Install engine

side panel (TM 9-2320-279-10).
