a. Removal
1
WARNING
Crossmember must be supported during removal. Failure to
support crossmember during removal may cause injury to
personnel or damage to equipment.
1.
Remove four locknuts (41, washers (31, capscrews (21, and washers (3) from rear crossmember (7) and
frame rails (11. Discard locknuts (4).
2.
Loosen six locknuts (9) on two rear crossmember mounting brackets (8) and rear crossmember (7).
3.
Slide rear crossmember (7) down and out from under vehicle.
4.
Remove six locknuts (91, washers (51, capscrews (6), washers (51, and two rear crossmember
mounting brackets (8) from rear crossmember (7). Discard locknuts (9).
b. Installation
1.
Install
two crossmember
mounting
bracke& (8)
on rear crossmember (7) with six washers (51,
capscrews (61, washers (5), and locknuts (9).
2.
Install rear crossmember (7) on frame rails (1) with four washers (31, capscrews (21, washers (31, and
locknuts (4). Tighten locknuts (41 to 260 lb-R (353 N-m).
3.
Tighten six locknuts (9) to 90 lb-R (122 N-m).
