Check for loose or worn brakeshoe linings.
Replace defective brakeshoes (para 4-38).
Check for loose or worn wheel bearings.
Adjust wheel bearings (para 4-48). If wheel bearings cannot be adjusted, replace wheel
bearings (para 4-48).
16. BRAKEDRUM RUNNING HOT.
Step 1.
Check to see if brakes are adjusted properly.

Check for weak or broken brakeshoe return springs.
Replace defective brakeshoe return springs (para 4-38).
