l Hand brake cable disconnected (para 4-31).
l General mechanic’s tool kit

l Two jackstands

REMOVAL
WARNING
1.
Axle is heavy and awkward to handle. Use caution, provide adequate support, and use
assistance during removal. Failure to follow this warning may result in serious injury to
personnel.
Raise axle (5) and place two jackstands under framerails at each corner of rear crossmember.
