Have assistant turn engine start switch to OFF. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
3.
Disconnect wire 1012B from nonoperating rear marker light.
4.
Connect button probe cable to MSD/ICE test equipment (WP
0004).

Connect button probe cable red lead to wire 1012B.
6.
Connect button probe cable black lead to a known good ground.
7.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
8.
Have assistant turn ON lights. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
9.
Perform ICE Test 89.
10.
Meter should display a reading between 22 to 28 vdc.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Are 22 to 28 vdc measured on wire 1012B at rear marker light?
DECISION
Voltage OK - Go to (Step 5 - Does test equipment pass offset test?).
Voltage Faulty - Go to (Step 4 - Can rear marker light harness wire 1012B be repaired?).
STEP 4
Can rear marker light harness wire 1012B be repaired?
WARNING
Remove all jewelry such as rings, ID tags, bracelets, etc. prior to working on or around vehicle.
Jewelry and tools can catch on equipment, contact positive electrical circuits, and cause a
direct short, severe burns, or electrical shock. Failure to comply may result in injury or death
to personnel.
NOTE
Wire is not repairable if damage cannot be visually located or if a prior repair has already
reduced length of wire. Wire is not repairable if after repair, wire is too short to reach its
connection point.

Have assistant turn OFF lights. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to OFF. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
