Remove fan well deck.
Adjust tension of fan drive belts. Refer
to TM 9-2350-238-10.
Remove engine cover.
Remove plastic caps from engine
crankcase breathers.
Remove tape from turbocharger
regulator exhaust pipe valve and engine
exhaust manifold elbow valve.
Remove plug or tape from air duct
opening into driver's compartment.
Connect hose to opening and generator
air duct.
Remove tape from engine oil filler cap
and auxiliary drive fill and level caps.
Check lubricant level in engine,
transmission, and auxiliary drive.
Check DD Form 1397 for oil viscosity
used.
Install engine cover.
To test engine for hydrostatic lock:

Set MASTER and INST switches to ON.
Hold ENGINE SHUTDOWN handle all
the way out and press START push-
button switch.
Turn engine over at least two
revolutions. If engine does not turn
over, refer to troubleshooting.
Release ENGINE SHUTDOWN handle.
Set MASTER and INST switches to
OFF.
