WARNING
Heater exhaust fumes contain deadly poisonous gases. Severe exposure can cause death or
permanent brain damage. Be alert at all times. Check for smell of exhaust fumes. If you detect
or suspect the presence of fumes, open all hatches right away. Shut heater OFF.
WARNING
Ammunition can explode and kill you. Do not start heater until ammunition and
combustible/explosive materials are properly stored at least 30 inches from heater vents.
Combustible materials must be stored 12 inches or more from metal surfaces of heater.
TURN PERSONNEL HEATER ON
NOTE
Heater startup varies with the type of heater (Stewart Warner or Hupp) installed in your
carrier. Steps 1 - 3 and Step 9 apply to both heaters. Steps 5 - 6 apply if your carrier is equipped
with a Stewart Warner (South Wind) heater. Steps 7 - 8 and apply if your carrier is equipped
with a Hupp (Perfection) heater.
