REPLACE MORTAR HATCH COVERS (M1064 ONLY) — Continued

NOTE

There are three mortar hatch sections. Remove and install all three the same way. Left section

is shown.

1.

Remove two screws (17), washers (16), bracket (15), and spacers (14) from hull top plate. Have helper assist.

2.

Support door (4). Remove two springs (13), shield (12), two spacers (11), and door from hinges (7) and (8). Remove six

springs from shield for right door section.

3.

Remove four screws (10), washers (9), two hinges (7) and (8), and spacers (6) from hull top plate.

4.

Remove two seals (5) from door (4). Discard seals.

5.

Remove two seals (1) and two seals (2) from center door. Discard seals.

6.

Remove canvas strap (3) from door (4).
