REPLACE/REPAIR RADIO OPERATOR’S SEAT (M1068 ONLY) — Continued

DISASSEMBLY

1.

Remove four screws (1), washers (2), and backrest (3) from back brace (4). Lift back brace off seat (6).

2.

Remove seat cushion (5) from seat (6).

3.

Remove six locknuts (7), washers (8), screws (9), and two clips (10) from seat (6). Discard locknuts.

4.

Remove two screws (11), lockwashers (12), spacers (13), and bracket (14) from two rails (15). Discard lockwashers.

5.

Remove eight screws (16) and seat (6) from two rails (15).

6.

Remove two short spring pins (17) from handle (18). Discard spring pins.

7.

Remove handle (18), spring (19), and latch (20) from seat (6).

Removetwolongspringpins(21)fromseat(6)

.Discardspringpins

.

NOTE

If inspection shows that bushing (22) needs to be replaced, perform Step 9. Be careful. Do

not damage seat when straightening ends.

9.

Straighten ends and remove bushing (22) from seat (6). Discard bushing.

10. If locknut(s) (23) need to be replaced, drive out old locknut(s) from seat (6). Discard locknut(s).
