REPLACE EXTERNAL HANDLE SHIELD (M1064 ONLY) — Continued

CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR
1.
Check shield. Replace cracked shield.
2.
Check threaded parts. Remove burrs. Replace parts that have stripped threads.
INSTALLATION
1.
Place shield (3) on top hull plate. Secure with two new lockwashers (6) and screws (5).
2.
Secure shield (3) to support bracket (4) with screw (2) and new locknut (1).
