RAISE AND LOWER POWER PLANT GRILLE — Continued

WARNING
The grille assembly will swing when screws are removed. To avoid injury, do not stand in
front of or behind grille assembly.
Damaged lifting slings can fail with load. Soldiers can be killed or injured. Inspect all slings
before use. Do not use damaged slings.
Grille and access cover are very heavy. Use extreme caution when lifting, blocking, and
lowering assembly. Allowing assembly to fall could cause death or injury.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to fan, radiator, and elbows, lower grille onto wood blocks or suitable
framethatwillsupportedgeofgrille
.
Use chain and lifting device capable of lifting and holding 2000 lbs (908 kg) securely.
The power plant door is heavy. If necessary, use extra helpers and straps/chains to guide and
control power plant door.
9.
Remove 14 screws (9) and washers (10) from power plant grille (11).
NOTE
Note location of 14 screws removed. One is the lifting eye screw and two are coarse threaded
screws.
10. Stow power plant front access door brace (12). Lay access door (13) back on power plant grille (11).
