REPLACE HOPPER HATCH (M58 ONLY) — Continued

1.

Release hopper hatch lock (1). Raise hopper hatch cover (2) 3/4 up to unsprung position. Have helper support hatch.

CAUTION

Damage to equipment may occur if hopper hatch is not raised to 3/4 open position when

removing retainer.

Remove two locknuts (3), screws (4), and retainer (5) from hinge brackets (6). Discard locknuts.

Have helper support hopper hatch cover (2). Remove 17 springs (7), shield (8), and two ﬁber washers (9) from hopper

hatch cover and hinge brackets (6).

4.

Remove hopper hatch cover (2) from carrier top plate.

5.

Remove four screws (10), washers (11), two brackets (6), and shims (12) from carrier top plate.

6.

Remove seal (13) from hopper hatch cover (2). Discard seal.

7.

Using cable assembly (14), lift screen (15) from hopper opening.

8.

Remove two screws (16), washers (17), and cable assembly (14) from screen (15).
