REPLACE HOPPER HATCH (M58 ONLY) — Continued

4.

Install two hinge brackets (7), shims (8), four washers (9), and screws (10) on carrier top plate.

5.

TIGHTEN FOUR SCREWS (10) ON HINGE BRACKETS (7) TO 76-83 LB-FT (103-112 N

m) TORQUE.

6.

Position hopper hatch cover (6) between hinge brackets (7).

7.

Install shield (11), 17 springs (12), and two ﬁber washers (13) in hopper hatch cover (6) and hinge brackets (7).

CAUTION

Damage to equipment may occur if hopper hatch is not raised to 3/4 open position when

installing retainer.

8.

Have helper hold hopper hatch cover (6) at 3/4 open unsprung position. Install retainer (14), two screws (15), and new

locknuts (16) on hinge bracket (7).

ADJUSTMENT

1.

Use shims (8) as required to achieve snug and even compression of seal (5).
