DRAIN AND FILL ENGINE COOLANT HEATER SYSTEM — Continued

FILL

1.

Close shutoff valves (1) and (2).

2.

Fill cooling system (WP 0227 00).

3.

Close heater fuel shutoff valve (3). See TM 9-2350-277-10.

4.

Start engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

5.

Hold RUN-OFF-START switch in START and run engine 2,950 rpm for maximum 30 seconds to prime coolant pump.

6.

Stop engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10. Refill cooling system (WP 0227 00).

7.

Open heater fuel shutoff valve (3). See TM 9-2350-277-10.

NOTE

Hoses to and from battery box heat exchanger will gradually increase in temperature and

remain warm if heater coolant system is primed and coolant heater is operating right.

8.

Start heater. See TM 9-2350-277-10. Check for proper operation. If heater overheats and shuts off, repeat Steps 3 - 5.

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Close power plant access door. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

2.

Start engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

3.

Raise and lock ramp. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

4.

Stop engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10.
