REPLACE SPEEDOMETER CABLE AND ADAPTER — Continued

INSTALLATION

1.

Place new preformed packing (1) on new final drive adapter (2).

2.

Install adapter (2) on final drive, and secure with four new tab washers (3) and screws (4). Bend tabs on each washer.

NOTE

Remove clamp and install new cable.

3.

Install new grommet (5) on new cable (6) and route cable through driver’s compartment bulkhead.

4.

Install grommet (5) in bulkhead.

5.

Connect speedometer cable (6) to final drive adapter (2) and speedometer (7).

6.

Align clamp (8) with bulkhead weldnut and secure with new lockwasher (9) and screw (10).

7.

Install new strap (11) to secure cable (6) to bilge pump hose.

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Install hull front access cover (WP 0449 00).

2.

Close power plant front door. See TM 9-2350-277-10.
