REPLACE TACHOMETER ENGINE ADAPTER — Continued

INSTALLATION

1.

Install tachometer engine adapter (8) on mounting bracket (9).

2.

Install MSD/ICE unit (6) on tachometer engine adapter (8).

3.

Install new gasket (7) on tachometer cable assembly (5) and slide jam nut forward. Connect tachometer cable assembly

to MSD/ICE unit (6).

4.

Position elbow (2) between exhaust manifold (3) and crossover pipe (4). Secure with two clamps (1).

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Start engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

2.

Check tachometer for proper operation. Tachometer needle should not pulsate.

3.

Check exhaust system for leaks.

4.

Stop engine. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

5.

Close power plant front access door. See TM 9-2350-277-10.

6.

Install driver’s power plant access panel. See TM 9-2350-277-10.
