2-12.4 Pre-Fire Checks

a. Recoil System

Pins (1) on recuperator assembly (2) must not extend more than 3/4 inch (19.05 mm) or less than 1/8

inch (3.2 mm).

Recuperator assembly (2) slotted nut (3) and cotter pin (4) must be properly installed.

Variable recoil assembly (5) round nut (6) must be properly installed.

NOTE

Due to heat expansion, pressure may increase during normal firing. Safe to fire range is 17 to 50

psi (117 to 345 kPa).

Check replenisher accumulator assembly (6.1) pressure gage (6.2) for 17 to 24 psi (117 to 165 kPa).
