Laying for Elevation Using M15 Elevation Quadrant
NOTE
M15 elevation quadrant is shown removed for clarity.

Upon announcement or data display of “QUADRANT (SO MUCH),” assistant gunner rotates elevation
knob (15) until announced quadrant appears on elevation counter (16). Assistant gunner then reads
setting to chief of section.
NOTE
Each time cab is traversed or cannon is elevated or depressed, assistant gunner must repeat
steps 2 and 3.

Assistant gunner elevates or depresses cannon until elevation level (17) bubble centers,

Assistant gunner turns cross-level knob (18) to center cross-level (19) bubble.

After gunner has traversed howitzer, assistant gunner verifies that cross-level (19) and elevation level
(17) bubbles are centered, and the announced or displayed quadrant appears on elevation counter (16).
Assistant gunner then announces, “SET.”
