Air Cleaner Fitter
d. Inspect fire extinguisher cylinder data plates to
ensure that a hydrostatic test has been performed within
past 5 years. Faulty extinguishers or those past test time
limit (5 years) shall be declared unserviceable and
replaced.
If NBC exposure is suspected, all air filter
media will be handled by personnel wearing full
NBC protective equipment.
Check for worn or missing gaskets (16) and hoses (17).
Check blower motors for operation. Troubleshoot if
necessary (para 3-3). Clean as follows:
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not
exceed 30 psi (207 kPa). Use only with effective chip
guarding and personal protective equipment (goggles/
shield, gloves, etc).
a. Shakeout dust. Using compressed air, clean the filter
on the inside and blow dust outward away from filter.
b. Replace filter elements which have holes or ruptures.
