equal to 1 mil numbered at 10-mil intervals.
Black numbers 0-100 mils
on the scale read azimuth.

The azimuth knob (Figure 2, Item 2) adjusts the elbow telescope in
azimuth.

Each graduation on the azimuth scale (Figure 2, Item 3) is equal to 100
mils numbered at 200-mil intervals.
Black numbers 0-6400 mils read
azimuth.
This forms the main azimuth scale.
7.
Red numbers 0-3200 mils read azimuth.
The lower row of graduations
parallels the 3200- to 6400-mil upper graduations.
This permits the
Aiming Circle to be used with other instruments having scales graduated
0-3200 mils.
