The elevation knob (Figure 5, Item 1) adjusts the elbow telescope
elevation.
The elevation micrometer scale (Figure 5, Item 2) is
numbered at 10-mil intervals, with each graduation being 1 mil.
The
black numbers 0-100 mils read elevation and the red numbers 0-100 mils
read depression.

The elevation scale (Figure 5, Item 3) is numbered at 100-mil intervals,
with each graduation being 100 mils.
The black numbers 0-800 mils
read elevation and the red numbers 0-400 read depression.

The elbow telescope tube level (Figure 5, item 4) shows when the elbow
telescope is level.
