Using a piece of wire or Rope Co hold thE driver'S escape hatch
rubber torsion spring gets worn out?
That's what some guys are doing, and it's strictly a NO Good deal.
Why?
BecausE when the driver wants out through ±He escaPe hatch in a hurry
(like
Maybe the tank's on fire) he²s got no time to be ³ntying a Lot of wire or roPe´
.

µo, check out the condition of the hatch closing spring¶ IF the hatch handle won't
snap back at oncE to a coMpletEly locked (closed) position, then the spring is no
good. It's got to be replaced¶
