So the best thing you can put into your fuel tank to bEat the water problem is
.±² fU³L´ AfteR every opEration, top off youR fuel tankµ Bring He LEvel back
up to
the full markµ Keep the empty space inside youR tank a¸ small as possible± Then
there'll be less Room foR that damp air-and less condensation±
±²³´µ¶·¸¹º»¼½¾
SPAC¹ TO ¹XPAND-SuReº somE water»s bound to get into the tan¼± ½vEn
when you fill upº you have to leave a little room for fuel expansion¾when the
tank gets warmº the fuel expands and can ovERflow if th¿ tank»s full Right to the
top± So there»s always some empty space in your tank for damp
À
air tÁ get in and
condense±

DÂAIN FIÃT½ÂS¾Besides trapping diRtº fuel filteRs catch any wateR sucked
out of the fueÄ tank± WateR»s heavier than fuelº so the wateR settles to the bottom
of the fuel filter. You get rid of this water by draining the fiLteR¾bEfoRe the
wateR builds up in the filteR and gets carried on to your engine-and befÅRe thE
wateR fReezes and stops up the filtEr .
Draining your filters even more tÆan daiLy may be a good idea. It depends oÇ
the weatherÈ And it depends on how hot ÉÇ» heavy you»re opERating±
You»re the one who can judge bestµ
WhÊn you dRain a filterº catch the
dRainings in a glass jarË Ãet it sit for a
minute or soµ Ìf any water came out of
the filteRº it»ll settle to thÍ bottom of
thE jaRµ Did you get some water? Ìf soº
drain thE filtER again and chec¼± Keep
it up until Îel comEs out of the filter
cleaÏ Én» pure.
CýAN STAÂT¾If you get some water fRom youR filter every dayº you can
bet theRe's quite a lot in Ðthe fuel tank. A Real bad case can bE ÑuRed only by
draining the tank and staRting all over again.
