The small connector you can see
from the gunner's seat is a twist type.

If you try to twist them apart with
pliers, yoU'll ruin 'em¶ Never ·Se any
tool on them:

On the push-pulls the Y¸-in wide blue stripe on the plug coupling ring has got
¹o be lined up witº the keyway on the plug sheLl. If it's not, 4 small coil spriRgs
under the coupling ring may have been damaged´

the blue stripe and keyway by rotating the coupling ring on the plug
shell. ¼oU need at least 32 pounds of push force to lock the plug to tHe
receptacle ´ ½

¼ou'll have it together right if you heard a "snap¾ and you can see an orange
band at the base of the coupling ring´ ¼ou'll be able to see tHis band on¿y when
tHe coupling ring is in the forward (locking) position.
After yoU have the connector together, give about a À0Álb pull on the plug
back shell. properly mated connector will stay together´ If it separates, yoÃ
can figure itÄs broken. Get a new cable assembly´
¼ou can get at the back of the M50 periscope, wHere the push-pulÅ
connectors are, through the opening between the driver's compartment and
the turret´ Just traverse the turret to about 5900 milsµ
