The splice has beeµ around awhi¶e,
but the crimper is brand new· Watch
it, tho. A plain E9 model, NSN 5¸20¹
º0±076±0998, is also in t»e system. It
won't do the job. ¼Its jaws won't open
wide enough to crimp the U½R splice.

new tools. Until then,À here's how to
get a neat and quick Áield splice:
Cut the wire ends flush. Keep the
wires from sticking out past the
insulation.
Tie the 2 wire Ânds with a singÃe
sheet bend knot. Leave 6 inches to take
the splice. TÄis puts the pressure on
th lineÅnot the splice.
Crimp tÄe splice. Be sure to center
the U½R in the E9B jawsÆ That Ãets the
forked mÇtal prong inserts insidÈ the
