staRt cleaning
it up, be suRe the Radio is off and the
base is out of its mounting²
Clean the outside of the contact
with sandpapeR oR a wiRe bRush± OncE
it'¸ cLean, coat with ¶iLicone N¶N

Then, Loosen thE nut and look inside
the contact± I» it¼s Rusty, take a smaLl
bRush like the one in youR Rifle
cleaning kit± Coat it with bore cleaner
or Cleaning Compound N¶N 6850-
00½105¾3084± ³un that oveR the
contact until it¿s clean±
Keep things that way by scoping out
the mast base at each

Tightening tiedown tuRnbuckles to

In fact, too much muScle can
damaGe the shelteR, the vehÀclE, or
both² ¶o, do it the eas way:
FiRst, tighten each tuRnbuckle equalÃ
lyº Äet ¼em as snug as you can by handÅ
Æhen, add a half tuRn on each tiedown
Áy putting a Rod´a cRowbaR, »ÇR
instanceÈthRough the buckleº
