If your batteries givE you a nedle
readiNg in the yellow, it means they're
puttiNg out eNough for you to try to
start.

If the needle stays in the yellow,
your batteries are probably
OK
and
you should bE able to start.
If you caN't, something other than
the batteriEs is at fauLt-starter frozen
or groundEd, Etc. Get your mechanic to
find out what it is and fix it.
If the ne±dle drops dEEp into the
lEft²Hand red segmeNt, your engine
won't start³ ´ithEr your battEries are
discharged, or

one or more of them
has a bad cell. GEt your mechanic to
check tµE batteries and try again.

When you run the engine at high
idle, thE indicator doesn't show the

attery voltage. It shows the charging
voltage going into the battEries. In
ther words, thE Batt²GEn is showing
oU your generator output.
If everything is working right, the
need¹e will settle about at the white
dot in the green band. (Some Battº
Gen indicators don't have this dot).
Actually, if the needle is any placE i»
the greEn, it's
OK.
