All you need to do is cut three 18-ft lengths of 14-gage wire, NSN 6145-00-
7±2²0853.
Unscrew the back cover on both of the cannon pLugs and push out the pins
and sockets in the receptacles ³ettered A,
C
and D´
So²deR the

the piNs ³³´
³µ³ aNd
the ¶OCket¶
Solder pin A to one end of a length of wire and socket A to the other endµ
Repeat the procedure for pins
C
and D and sockets
C
and Dµ
Be sure the correct pin and socket are installed in the ³ettered receptac³es by
doublechecking with a multimeterµ
ReInstal³ the cannon plug back covers and tape the 3 new wires to the
harnessµ
That'll do it, and you'l³ have one harness that'll work on both vehiclesµ

The reason it¶s overlooked is there¶s
not much mentiOn of service for the
pump in the TM'sµ
So, does that mean toss it out when
it fails a troubleshooting test?
Not necessarilyµ That pump does
more than just move fuelµ ·t also
co¸tains the first filter for fuel and the
filter can get clogged and dirty just like
any otherµ
And when it gets c³ogged, dirty fuel
goes right on thr¹ the li¸e;causing a
loss of power, maybe engine stoppage´
Dunk the fºlter and the pump cap»in
drycleaning solvent (P¼D-680)µ Keep
that stuff off your skin and have good
ventilationµ
