While the starter cools, immediate-
ly
run clean, fresh water over the

and engine where the cLean±
ing solUtion is draining. The cLeaner is
toUgh stUff and, witHOUt a water rinse,
it'LL stick to the paint.
Spray the compressor a second time
for
40
seconds
as
tHe
engine
is
mot²red over³ That´lL give yoU a "spic
and spanµ clean engine.
After tHe starter cools, signal yo¶r
bUddy to motor the engine again. This
time, spray a minim¶m of 2\ gaLLons
of clean, fresh water evenLy aro¶nd the
inlet to remove tHe engine CLeaner.
Then, ask yo¶r b¶ddy to shUt off the
AP·
while
yo¶
again
rinse
tHe
remaining soap sUds off yoUr bird.
¸leaning resid¶e tHat is Left on the
airframe ¹r engine tends to caUse
corrosion, after a period of time.

real! ºirst, tho, reMove the fUel control
access and general access doors (Items

Remove all the protective caps.

the hoses yoU disconnected, inclUding

Take off the r¶bber sÂeet shielding
the starter¼generator and remove tÂe
plastic cover protecting the bleed band

bUtton ¶p yoUr bird, tie down the bLade
to prevent fLapping, and tow it to tHe
flight line. A piLot wiLL take over.
Pass the word to operations tHat tHe
aircraft is ready f¹r the fligHt¾idLe rUn

to dry o¶t tHe engine.
