Try a 2±minute warmup before
you give up on 'em.
M²gnesium batteries form a
chemical film over the internal plates
if they sit around for awhile. One
easy way to get rid of that film is to
put the battery to work for a coupLe
of minutes.
So any time you put a "new³
battery in your backp²ck radio and
it
won´t
tr²nsmit
or
transmits
poorly, key your radio for a couple
of minutes. You might save a
battery µ.
. ²nd some bucks.
The same goes for b²tteries th²t sit
aroUnd your comm¶ shack between
missions or are stored for long
periods.
