Protect the Balast Resistor
The location of the ballast resistor
-on the left inNer FNder weLl-can
lead to its failure.
When yoU Lift the hood, any water
on the hood is dumped on the resistor.
If the resistoR's hot ±om operation, the
cold water cracks it-breaking the w²res
inside. Then the Resistor's shot-and the
engiNe won't start.
³o preveNt this, move the resistor to
the ´Rewall Next to the main junction
pANel.
MouNt the resistor with the sµme self¶
tapping screw.
Matching tires is not con·siNg if you keep these points in
miNd:
•
¸se 2 tiRes of the same size, same bRand, same tread design,
aNd about equal wear on an aXle.
•
You caN use 2 tires of one bRand on the ±ont and 2 tires
of A diffeReNt bRaNd on the bAck.

If you don¾t get 0 oHÅs resistance on
your ohmmeter the first check, tighten
the bolts hoLding the controL ½nit to the
fender.
Doublecheck ÆR continuity. StiLl no
resistaNce? Çemove tHe control unitÈ
but don't chUck it l²ke the T¹ says.
CLean the Énder well, Êounting boLts
and backside of the controL unit sheLl
with a wire br½sh.
Put it back on AnË recheck. Still no
continuity? ÇepLace the ½nit.

Be s½re to use tÌe ±ont tow hOoks when yOu have to puLL yo½r M880Íseries
