Saving your Shaf
When instalLing the feeder on the receiver of your M242 cANon, make

sure
the drive shaF is down. If it±s not, tHe feeDer wiLL mash the shaF.

Watch ¹r l¸se moun³º
i»g b¼lts on ³he trac½ guard/
de¾eCtor, ³oo. If ³hey loosen,
³he de¾ec³or can ge³ caught in ³he
³rac½ and maybe brea½ o¿.
Ànce the feeder is in Ásition, pusH
tHe drive shaF up and Loc½ it by tuÂÃ
ing it countercloc½wise. If the drive
shaF won±³ move, ma½e sure the feeder
is ÄLLy in position. Then give the drive
shaF a Årm tap upward wi³h the paLm
of your Hand.
WHen you store the receiver, lƽ tHe
drive shaF. That ½eeps it Çom bending
when the reCeiver is slid on a workbench
or ¼Èer surface.
Éever move the receiver or load tHe
feeder unLess you ½now the drive shaf³
is in ÊLace. Knowing whether it±s up or
down can save your cannon a ³riÊ t¼ ³He
shop.
That means a job Ër your

drill ou³ the bro½en bol³s and reÌthRead the
holes. If you see loose b¼lts, ge³ your mech on ³he job.
