Grease KeePs GRit Out
Dear Windy,
DuRing a recent T±iniNg exercise, my unit had p²blems
wiTh sand and grit geTting into the hanger bearings on
the tail rotor driveshaft.
We solved the pRoblem by smearing a layer of grease
on the outeR su³ace of each bearing.
EveRy day we wiped oF the grease, along with the di´
and gRit. µhen we ¶-coated the bearings with new g¶ase.
µhe exTra grease saved us a lot of hanger bearings.
