echanics, a sluggiSh shifting trans-
mission on a CUCV may not be a seri±
ous proBlem. Here's how to trouble²
shoot the transmission:
•
Check the transmission fluid³ Not
enoug´ Fµid makes the transmission
sluggish. Add fluid if the level is low.
•
EyeBall the vacuuM lines¶ Check
·r loose or damaged vacuuM lines and
hoses. A leak in any of t¸e lines
¹
will
cause shiº problems.
Tighten loose
hoses and replace any that are dam±
aged. Then take the truck fOr a test
drive.
•
I» there is still a shift problem,
unhook the downshift electrical ¼con½
nector on the transmission.
•
Do the road test again¾ If the trans½
mission shifts right wit´ the connectoR
unhooked¿ the transmission downshift
switch is bad. It's on the accelerator
bracket under thÀ dashboard¶
Áeplace the switch with NÂN
2520-
01±²63-7282.
The switch was a DÂ
fx,
but that has changed. The ÂÃÁ code
is now PAÄZZ.
Replace transmission
downshif switch
with NSN
