·ere's how to prevent most tank
¸iRes:
¹º »eep the hUll ¼oor c³ean± DUst,
di½t, sand and debris bUild up in hu³³
¼oors over time± Mix in a litt³e (or a
³ot) of diese³ ´µe³ spi³³ed or ³eaked and
you've got a ¾ire waiting fOr a spark±
C³ean the hu³l every time the pack is
removed±
A³so, c³ean o¿ the fire sensors every
daY± They can't "see¶ a fire if they're
dirty± Be care´µ³ noÀ to scratch or gouge
the sensor fÁce during c³eaning±

¹º Âeport all ´µel leaks as soon as
YoU spot themÃa³³ o¾ them, no matter
how sma³l± Äook c³ose³y at ´µel ³ines,
Åel fIlter, qUick disconnects and espe²
cia³lY tHe PTS actuator hoses Ær leaks±
Repor all fuel leaks. Look ±eal close
at the
PTS
actuato± hoses Fo² leaks
ÇÈ Eyeball a³³ electrical cab³es Ær
wear and damage± Arcing or shorting
causes most of the ¸ires to start± Two
speci¸ic areas are worsÉ for cable
damage:
ÃThe cables routed thRough the
opening between the batterY Êox and
the engine compartment
Check cables between batte±y
and engine fo± wea±, chafing,
melting o± damage
