Dear Editor,
Rotor blade pin abuse is on
the rise!
Some mechanics use a
hammer to remove or install
pins. That leads to beat-up pin
heads and nuts.
I± also distorts the clip
tension, which makes
adjusting tension dificul± or
impOssible.
These simple procedures
can end blade pin removal
and installation problems:

Align the blade sling
properly;

Clean the blade pins and
link holes;

Adjust clip tension to
50-60 pounds using dial
indicator gauge, ¾S¾ 663¿-00-
578-5285;
Make sure the gap
between the attaching pin
washer and the blade link is
0À002 ±o 0À060 inch like it
shows in Áig 5Â2Â5 OF
