Adjusting the Flame
Wait five minutes when gasoline is
used-fifteen minutes Fr oil-to let
the heater warm up. TheN set the ad±
justment knob to regulate the size of
²ame you want.
³Hen using gasoline, set tHe adjust´
ment knob between 0 and 7. Setting it
aBoVe 7 wastes µel and makes Heavy
smoke and is a sa¶ty hazard. ·oR oil,
set it Between 0 and 9.
¸ut never leave tHe knob at 9, even in
the coldest weatHer. At tHe maximum
setting the Heater or tHe ²ue can get
Hot enougH to set youR tent on ¹Re.
If you get heavy, Black smoke ºom
youR Heater, tuM tHe adJustment knoB
to 0. Let the excess µel BuM o», tHen
reset the control knoB.
KEep Fuel Strainer Clean
Keep the ¼Uel strainer clean to let
your Heater get a good flow of µel.
¸ut Be sure not to damage or bend t½e
stRainer wHen you clean it.
A damaged strainer can let un¾i¿teRed
µel into tHe system that can clog tHe
float valve assemBly.
IÀ the strainer is damageD, replace it
witH ÁSÁ 5410Â01±231±1754.
