Dear Editor,
Here's a way to fnish rope ends that±s as good as whip-
ping or heat shrinking. Use a plastic coating compound. It
adds no buLk to the rope and won²t come oF³
1. Be´ore cutting the ropeµ use an acid swabbing brush
to paint a 1¶·n band o´ compound around the area where
the end wiLL be. NSN 7920¸00¹514¹2417 gets 144 brushes
´or Less than

Toss the brush when ´inished³ OR a
popsicLe stick

ove½ight.
2³ Cut the rope through the band¾
3¾ Dip the rope end (approximateLy 2 ¿nches) Into the
pLastic coating compound
