Equipment Condition
Rear propeller shaft removed
(TM 9-2320-387-24-1).
Maintenance Level
Unit
1.
Remove four nuts (3), lockwashers (2), two U-bolts (5), and front propeller shaft (1) from
output yoke (4). Discard lockwashers (2).
NOTE
Have drainage container ready to catch fluid.
2.
Remove nut (6), lockwasher seal (7), output yoke (4), and output seal (8) from transfer case (9).
Discard lockwasher seal (7).
1.
Using front seal installer and drive handle, install output seal (8) on transfer case (9).
2.
Install output yoke (4) on transfer case (9) with lockwasher seal (7) and nut (6). Tighten nut (6) to
110 lb-ft (149 N
•
m).
3.
Install front propeller shaft (1) on output yoke (4) with two U-bolts (5), four lockwashers (2), and
nuts (3). Tighten nuts (3) to 13–18 lb-ft (12–24 N
•
m).
Remove oil seal (10) from transfer case extension (11).
Using rear seal installer, install oil seal (10) on transfer case extension (11).
